Children First required a simple and streamlined website linked to a rich and robust intranet portal. Leveraging Drupal many internal processes were streamline and provide staff convenient access to internal services, news, events, groups and support. Externally a fresh redesigned theme with focus on providing essential information and access to up to date group and workshop information was an essential requirement.
Many internal processes were ported to web based services using the rich tools provided by Drupal and the help of custom coded modules. These services include the digital resource library and Purchase requisition system. Additional services including Professional Development forms and Millage tracking are still in development.
Resource Library
A listing of all resources, toys, books, journals, and videos including images and descriptions of items provided by Amazon and search indexed to allow users to sort and find the resources they need. Users can locate where resources are stored and check them out directly from the portal or the kiosk located in the library. Overdue notices are sent to users automatically and lending history for users and resources area available.
Purchase Requisition
Staff can create requests for items or resources required for purchase. Utilizing workflow tools the request is passed to various managers who approve or reject. Email notifications are sent at various points and staff can check the status of their requests from their homepage. Management can generate dynamic reports and break down purchases by users, cost centers, and date ranges
